Members of the Task Force for facilitation of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre met with the Cambodia Delegation
Members of the Task Force for the facilitation of ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre; H.E. U Kyaw Myo Htut, Deputy Minister for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Dr. Aye Htun, Deputy Minister for Ministry of Health and H.E. U Aung Tun Khaing, Deputy Minister for Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement met with Cambodia Delegation led by H.E. Dr. KUNG Phoak, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Head of the office of the Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on 9 June 2022 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.
The Meeting was attended by the members of the Task Force U Chan Aye, Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, U Sein Win, Director General from the Ministry of Health and members of the Task Force Working Group.
The Meeting reviewed Joint Needs Assessment (JNA) which was done during the first week of June 2022 by the AHA Centre and ASEAN-ERAT Team. The meeting also discussed ways forward to the completion of JNA in the most effective and efficient way. The Meeting also exchanged views on the outcomes of Consultative Meeting on ASEAN Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar held on 6th May 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
Deputy Minister for Ministry of Health updated the progress of national vaccination rollout and discussed on the joint vaccination framework which was one of the outcomes of the Consultative Meeting. Deputy Minister for Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement explained the national policy on Distribution of Humanitarian Assistance to Myanmar through the AHA Centre.
Myanmar Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to facilitate the works of ASEAN’s humanitarian assistance process, including for safe and successful JNA by working closely with the ASEAN Secretariat and the AHA Centre.
