Information on ” Visa Exemption “

The Visa Exemption allows tourists who hold the Japan ordinary Passport and Republic of Korea ordinary Passport to enter Myanmar without a visa, trial period of one year starting from 1-10-2018 to 30-9-2019.

Allow from International entrances/exits; Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport, Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, Yangon International Port , Myanmar-Thai Border Gates such as Tachilek, Myawaddy, Kawthoung and Htee Kee.

It will grant only Tourist visa for tourism purpose.
For those who hold the Japan Ordinary passports and the Republic of Korea ordinary passports with tourist visa (gratis) allow to stay for 30 days and it cannot be extended for further stay in Myanmar.

Only Package Tours and FIT(Free Independent Traveler) will be permitted to enter the country without a visa, no recommendation from any Department, Association or Tour Company is needed. The traveler must guarantee that the entry is for the visiting trip only.

One should pay respect and follow the existing laws and procedures of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Except for the restricted areas for security, one can freely visit the places where foreigners are permitted.

When they arrived at the respective International Airports, Port and Land border gates must need to show money of the amount of US$1000.

The Respective Security Department, Associations and Immigration Department can deny to entry when they find some inadmissible facts for Applicants.

One must be able to show the return ticket (can use within one month) or an air ticket to proceed to another country.

The one who can depart from any International entrances/exits.

The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar will grant “Visa Exemption ” for Tourists who hold the Japan ordinary Passport and Republic of Korea ordinary Passport when they enter to Myanmar from International entrances/exits; Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport, Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, Yangon International Port, Myanmar-Thai Border Gates such as Tachilek, Myawaddy, Kawthoung and Htee Kee, trial period of one year starting from 1-10- 2018 to 30-9-2019.
